Make transfers less painful

Simon Nikoloff, of Kiwihost in Christchurch, New Zealand, suggests that to ease the pain of the transfer for your customer, let them know what’s happening and why they’re being transferred.

For example, ‘Jean, I think you should talk to Stuart in engineering. He has knowledge about this area and will be able to answer all your questions. Is that okay?’

Painless transfers in four easy steps:

1. Tell the caller who they will be transferred to.

2. Explain why.

3. Ask permission to make the transfer.

4. Transfer the call.
