Referral thank-you

If you make something easy for yourself or staff to do, you’ll do more of it, and it’s marvellous to thank people for referrals.

If you use Outlook, write a standard thank-you for your referral paragraph. Copy it and create a signature with it (yes, a signature!). Signatures are the automatic salutation and contact details on the bottom of emails.

You’ll find signatures in the Tools menu, Options, then under Mail Format, then Signatures.
Whenever you want to thank someone for their referral, open a new email. In the Insert menu, select Signature then select your thank-you signature. Add their name and a subject line. How easy is that?

Think back to the tip for remembering the birthday greetings. Use the signature email idea for your birthday prompt. Brilliant.
