Let’s say you’re doing business with a plastic manufacturer. Why not prospect other companies in the same industry? Tell them how you could help because of your experience. Contact the individual in the same role as the person you’re working with.

A second idea is to find similar business clients in different industries. For example, if you have lots of small plastic-manufacturing clients with five employees, then look for companies with similar characteristics in metalworking.
