View all activity with a contact

It can be daunting trying to find all the emails you have sent and received from an individual, especially if you have them in different folders. Outlook solves this problem with the Activities tab.

Simply go to that person’s contact listing. In Outlook 2003, the Activities tab is hidden behind the General tab. Click on it. Outlook will search through all your folders and list (virtually) all your activity with that contact: emails, tasks and meetings. The list generated not only shows you what folder each item is in, you can work with them too. In Office 2007, Activities is found on the contact ribbon of a contact.

Got an email from someone that you want to add to your contacts? Drag the email and drop it into your Contacts icon or folder!

A new contact opens with their name and email address filled in, and the email content in the text box of the contact. If they have an email signature simply highlight, then drag their other contact details (such as company, position and phone) from the signature and drop them into the respective contact fields.
