Coming across as desperate during a negotiation is one of the surest ways for you to get the short end of the stick. Do not believe, even for one second, that what you’re being offered is the one and only choice. Take time to work out a Plan B. That way, if you
don’t reach a win-win resolution, you can walk away knowing that you have other options. Walking away does not necessarily mean that you’ll lose it all; there will be times that your actions will force the other party to reconsider.
